Obstetrics and Gynecology

Our specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), which include physicians and nurse practitioners, provide comprehensive care that is convenient and accessible. Our full-service care starts with preconception through pregnancy to delivery and post-partum care.

Our providers are experienced in providing comprehensive health care to women. In addition to routine gynecological exams/Pap smears, they provide evaluation and treatment for contraception, infection, fertility issues, hormonal changes, menopause, and breast conditions as well as health promotion education and screening. If indicated, surgical intervention utilizing minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and appropriate abdominal and vaginal surgery is available.

MelroseWakefield Hospital is fortunate to have a referral network with Tufts Medical Center maternal and fetal medicine physicians. Our team of obstetricians works closely with Tufts Medical Center physicians providing care for women with high-risk pregnancies. Our special care nursery is staffed by neonatologists from Tufts providing care for newborns with health issues.

Gynecologic Oncology

Our gynecologic oncology program is committed to meeting the complex needs of women with cancers of the reproductive tract. We have expertise in treating many types of female pelvic cancers including cancers of the ovary, uterus, cervix, vulva and trophoblast (placenta). The scope of services provided includes screening examinations; diagnostic imaging; treatment of gynecologic cancer including surgery, radiation therapy, and/or medical oncology; outpatient chemotherapy; counseling services; and second opinions for women with gynecologic cancer.
