The safety and wellbeing of our patients during the COVID-19 outbreak is our priority. At this time, testing is recommended for and limited to patients as follows:
- Patients with a respiratory illness and serious underlying health conditions like immunosuppression, COPD, heart failure or diabetes with major complications, OR
- Patients with respiratory illness with breathing distress, chest pain or dehydration from poor intake.
If you are having chest pain or difficulty breathing, please call 911 and/or seek care at the Emergency Room. Other patients should contact their PCP office prior to seeking care. The MA Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) state that most mild respiratory infections can be managed over the phone and with care measures at home. Your PCP can advise you if you need to see a healthcare provider. Emergency Department services are reserved for the sickest, highest risk patients.
