These experienced healthcare and business professionals work closely with physician leaders and staff to create clinical and operational excellence in one of the most rapidly growing multi-specialty groups north of Boston.
Michael Newman, MD, MBA, FACP, CPE
President, Hallmark Health Medical Associates d/b/a Tufts Medical Center Community Care; Executive Vice President of Professional Services, MelroseWakefield Healthcare; Medical Director, MelroseWakefield Healthcare and Tufts Medical Center Community Care, Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology
Michael Newman, MD, MBA, FACP, CPE attended medical school at New York University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at University of Michigan Medical Center. He is fellowship trained in gastroenterology and hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Newman has been practicing gastroenterology for more than 25 years and has served in various medical leadership positions over the past 20 years. He joined Hallmark Health Medical Associates in 2011, initially recruited as the medical director of gastroenterology services. He subsequently took on additional responsibilities as President and Chief Medical Officer of Hallmark Health Medical Associates, as well as Executive Vice President of Professional Services for MelroseWakefield Healthcare.
Dr. Newman serves on various local committees and is a member of the Hallmark Health Medical Associates Board of Directors, the Hallmark PHO Board of Directors, the NECQA Board of Directors and the Medford Ambulatory Surgical Center Board of Directors. Dr. Newman is completing his MBA with a focus in healthcare this spring.
Douglas R. Schulte, MD, CPE

Douglas R. Schulte, MD, CPE received his medical degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his family practice residency at Naval Hospital, Pensacola. He is a board-certified family medicine physician and certified physician executive focused on development and growth, physician recruitment and retention, patient engagement and satisfaction, population health, and quality of care in our organization. He has more than a decade of experience in healthcare management, having served as vice president, physician practice operations and medical director of the physician group at Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA and chief of professional staff at Naval Health Clinic, Quantico. He has been a practicing family physician for more than 23 years.
Lori Barrett, RN, MBA
Vice President of Operations, Hallmark Health Medical Associates d/b/a Tufts Medical Center Community Care and MelroseWakefield Healthcare Professional Services
Lori Barrett, RN, MBA, is responsible for the further development and growth in planning, directing and coordinating operations for all primary care, OB/GYN, medical/surgical specialties and Patient Access Center. She works closely with the executive vice president to identify and implement strategies that optimally align hospitals and physicians within the Professional Services division.
Melissa Garrett Kingston
Vice President of Finance, Hallmark Health Medical Associates and MelroseWakefield Healthcare Professional Services
Melissa Garrett Kingston has been with Hallmark Health Medical Associates (HHMA) since 2007. Prior to joining HHMA, she held financial analyst and controller positions with Massachusetts Eye and Ear Associates and Partners Healthcare System. Melissa earned her MBA from Suffolk University and her Bachelor of Science degree in finance and marketing from Boston College.
